Rain forecast again in Punjab today, these two districts will receive the most rain, see the latest weather update

Punjab recorded 15.4 mm of rain till the morning of July 1. While by the evening, Bathinda recorded 88 mm, Faridkot 43 mm, Fazilka 24.5 mm, Ferozepur 6 mm and Amritsar 11 mm of rain.

After which, by Thursday evening, the temperature of the state recorded a huge drop of 5.8 degrees. The maximum temperature crossed 40 degrees and reached 33.4 degrees.

A yellow alert has been issued for rain today in two districts of Punjab, Pathankot and Hoshiarpur. Along with rain, strong winds can also blow here. Apart from these two districts, there is a possibility of 50 to 75 percent rain in Gurdaspur, Nawanshahr and Rupnagar and 25 to 50 percent rain in the rest of the states.

According to the Meteorological Center (IMD), the monsoon remained sluggish in the month of July, but good rains are expected in August. The IMD weather bulletin shows that Punjab received only 117 mm of rain against the long-term average of 209.9 mm. After Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh region witnessed a 40% decrease in rainfall. IMD Chandigarh Director Surinder Pal admitted that this July has received less rain than expected.

The entire northwest region has seen a 17% deficit. Monsoon remained weak in Punjab and Haryana in July. The winds from the Bay of Bengal, which bring monsoon rains, have been weak this season. This has reduced rainfall in Punjab

Temperature of major cities of Punjab

Amritsar- Amritsar received about 101 mm of rain from Wednesday night to Thursday evening. After which the maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded below 30 degrees at 29.6 degrees. Today it will be cloudy, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature can remain between 26 to 35 degrees.

Jalandhar- The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 30.5 degrees. The sky will be cloudy with chances of rain. The temperature is likely to remain between 27 to 35 degrees.

Ludhiana- After Thursday's rain, the maximum temperature was recorded at 32.8 degrees. Today it will be cloudy, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature will be recorded between 26 to 32 degrees.

Patiala- After 31.6 mm of rain on Thursday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 32 degrees. Today it will be cloudy. The temperature is expected to remain between 25 to 33 degrees.

Mohali- Yesterday the maximum temperature of Mohali was recorded at 32.6 degrees. Today it will be cloudy and the temperature is expected to remain between 24 to 36 degrees.
