ITR Refund Scam: Fraudsters always find some way to cheat people. Fraudsters are now making people their victims through Income Tax Return (ITR). The last date for filing income tax return was 31st July. A new month has started from today. So far many people have received their returns, while some people are still waiting for their returns. Cyber crooks are targeting such people. People are being asked to verify their account by sending fake messages in the name of ITR.

Here the scammers target those who have not received their returns. Scammers send them fraudulent messages in the name of ITR, in which they are told that the refund amount will be deposited in their account soon and they will be asked to verify the account. Apart from this, a link is also given in the message, on which they have to click. After this, your important account details reach the scammers. This can cause you a lot of loss.

First of all, no message is sent by the Income Tax Department to verify the account. You will only get a message from the department informing you about the refund amount and that too when the money is deposited. Also, do not trust any such message and do not click on any unknown link.
