Mumbai, 01 August (HS). Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced a reward of Rs 1 crore from the state government to shooter Swapnil Kusale who won bronze medal in Paris Olympics. Along with this, Central Railway has announced promotion of Swapnil Kusale to the post of officer. Central Railway General Manager Ram Karan Yadav said that a separate reward will be announced for Swapnil.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that he is proud of Swapnil Kusale. Swapnil Kusale won the bronze medal in the 3 position in the 50 meter rifle shooting event in the Paris Olympics. This medal is special for Maharashtra. Because in 1952, Khashaba Jadhav won the historic bronze medal in wrestling in the Helsinki Olympics. 72 years later, Swapnil Kusale from Kolhapur has brought Maharashtra the title.
Swapnil's role model is Team India's Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Just like Dhoni was a ticket collector in his life. Similarly, Swapnil also works as a ticket collector in Central Railway. Dhoni's calm nature on the field had an impact on his life. The effect of which was also seen in his shooting.
General Manager of Central Railway Ram Karan Yadav said that Swapnil is currently working as a TC in Pune Division of Central Railway. This is a matter of pride for Central Railway. Ram Karan Yadav announced that Swapnil will be given due respect by Indian Railways and will be promoted as an officer immediately after his return to India from Paris. He informed that the Railway Minister will also announce a cash reward for Swapnil.
