Uttarakhand Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman said that on the demand of the Uttarakhand government, Chinook and MI-17 helicopters of the Air Force from the Government of India have come to Uttarakhand, which are engaged in rescuing and evacuating the people trapped in Kedarnath. The state government is trying to ensure that no devotee suffers any harm and they return safely from their destination. This will send a good message to the state government. He said that at present the traffic is blocked on the damaged routes. An alternative route will be built soon. 1100 passengers have been taken to a safe place through an alternative route. 425 passengers stranded in Bhimbali, Rambada, Licholi on the Kedarnath Dham route have been taken to a safe place by heli rescue. This has been possible due to the prompt action of the government and the efficiency of the SDRF. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself is keeping an eye on the disaster-affected districts. He has appealed to the pilgrims to exercise restraint along with taking stock of the rescue operation.
