Kullu, 1 August (HS). CPS Sundar Singh Thakur on Thursday inspected the flood affected areas of Manikaran like Jachhani, Bagianda, Jari, Chowki, Tosh etc. He said that the administration and the government are fully alert, prepared and active. He said that every situation is being reported by maintaining constant contact with the Chief Minister.
He said that a building of Sabzi Mandi in Shat has been washed away by water. For the time being, instructions have been given to identify a safe place for the temporary Sabzi Mandi. 8 families of Baladi village have been affected who have been shifted to safe places. Arrangements for essential items have been made.
He instructed to save the lands of the people of Baladi and Chowki villages by correcting the flow of water. He said that due to the work of Flood Mission, the dams installed on Manikaran Road have saved the roads from getting flooded, otherwise the condition of the roads would not have been so good, 38 crore rupees have been spent on this.
He said that a total of 37 people were trapped in the dam site in Malana forest, out of which 33 people have been safely rescued by the NDRF and Home Guards teams. 4 people are trapped in the tunnel, who are safe. To reach here, NDRF teams are working to rescue them by going on foot. Local people are also helping in the rescue. 13 kilometers of power line has been damaged in this area, the work of repairing it has also been started. He also gave instructions to build a foot bridge in Tosh in 10 days.
