Two students of Kasturba Vidyalaya will go to Japan

Prayagraj, 01 August (HS). Two girl students of Uttar Pradesh who have completed their studies up to class 8 from Kasturba Vidyalaya have been selected to visit Japan. In the one week tour, they will visit various tourist places, research institutes, science related institutes and will also meet some scientists.

In a letter issued by the Director General of School Education and State Project Director, it has been told that Sandhya Saroj, a student of Kasturba Vidyalaya Baharia and Riya Patel of Kasturba Vidyalaya Sadwa Chandrika of Pratapgarh district have been selected for Sakura Science High School Program Japan. Both the students will visit Japan from 10 to 16 November. For this, consent letter from parents is necessary. The expenses of travelling from home to school and Delhi, food and making passport etc. will be borne from DPO funds. Basic Education Officer of both the districts will complete all the procedures.

As soon as this news reached Kasturba Vidyalaya of Bahria, the students and warden Pratima Shukla were overjoyed. She told that Sandhya is registered in Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Government School for high school studies. Sandhya, who was present there, was also overjoyed. She told that her father Premchand has studied upto graduation. He is a farmer. Her mother Neelam Devi has studied upto 12th. She is the fifth among five brothers and two sisters. Elder brother Kuldeep has started a tent business after completing his post graduation. Other sisters are also studying. She is interested in science but wants to join the civil service. She has got this opportunity, for which she is grateful to the teachers.

BSA Praveen Kumar Tiwari said that this selection has been done on the basis of students' interest in science. Efforts are being made to get more girls to join science subject. They should become a part of creative activities. For this, experts from Gandhinagar IIT are taking online classes of Kasturba Vidyalaya students. There is a full effort to provide special computer lab and other facilities in the school.
