HDFC Bank Credit Card New Rule: HDFC Bank credit card customers are going to get a shock from today, August 1. From August 1, 2024, HDFC Bank credit card holders will have to pay new charges and revised charges on different transactions. These changes will be applicable in rental payments, educational expenses and many other transaction categories. Check the new charges.
rent payment:
Customers paying fares through third party apps such as CRED, Cheq, MobiKwik, Freecharge will now be charged 1% on the transaction amount, limited to Rs 3,000 per transaction.
Fuel Transactions:
There will be no additional charge for fuel transactions less than Rs 15,000, but transactions above Rs 15,000 will attract a 1% fee on the entire amount, subject to a maximum of Rs 3,000.
Utility Transactions:
There will be no additional charges for utility transactions below ₹50,000, but transactions above ₹50,000 will attract a 1% fee, capped at ₹3,000. Insurance transactions will be exempt from these charges.
Education Transactions:
There will be no charges for education payments made directly through the college or school website or POS machines. However, payments made through third-party apps will attract a 1% fee, up to a maximum of ₹3,000. International education payments are excluded from these charges.
International Transactions:
A 3.5% markup fee will apply to international or cross currency transactions, increasing costs for those shopping or transacting abroad.
Late Payment Charges:
Late payment charges have been revised. These charges can range from ₹100 to ₹1,300, depending on the outstanding amount.
Rewards & Finance Charges:
Reward redemption for statement credit will attract a fee of ₹50. In addition, a finance charge of 3.75% per month will also be applicable for those using the revolving credit facility.
Easy-EMI Processing Fee:
A processing fee of up to Rs 299 will be applicable when availing Easy-EMI option online or offline.

Changes in Tata New Credit Card:
HDFC Bank has also made changes to the Tata New Infinity and Tata New Plus credit cards, changing the cashback rules on UPI payments. All these changes have been made as part of improving HDFC Bank's credit card offering.
