India Post Payments Bank of India Post Office has announced an accident policy of Rs 396 per year. This insurance policy provides coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh in case of accident, death, permanent disability, partial disability or paralysis.
How does an insurance policy work?
- The insured who is hospitalized after an accident will be given an amount of Rs 60,000 for OPD expenses, Rs 30,000 for OPD treatment and palliative care.
- In case of hospitalization, Rs 1000 per day and Rs 60,000 extra will be given for 10 days. If the insured's family lives in another city, then a ticket worth up to Rs 25,000 will be given for their arrival.
- If the policyholder dies due to any reason, there is also a provision to pay Rs 5000 for the funeral based on the policy. Along with this, in case of death of the policyholder, the sum assured of more than Rs 10 lakh pays Rs 1 lakh separately for the education of children.
- A mega camp will be organized in the post office by the Indian Postal Department regarding the scheme. This facility can be availed through the postman in any nearby post office. For a larger number than usual, you can contact the nearest post office and get the insurance.
