Mumbai: A shocking incident has come to light in Yamgarni village of Nipani taluk in Belgaum district of Karnataka. In Pandharpur, Maharashtra, a dog named 'Maharaj' got lost in the crowd and walked alone for 250 kilometers to reach his native village. In his honor, dogs were killed and food was also kept in the village.
In the last week of June, 'Maharaj's' owner Kamlesh Kumbhar left for Pandharpur's annual wari (jatra). Then this dog also started walking with him. According to Kumbhar, he goes to Pandharpur every year on Ashadhi and Kartiki Ekadashi. This year a dog also went with him. He also likes to listen to bhajans. After a journey of 250 kilometers, the dog reached Pandharpur with his owner and after visiting the Vithoba temple, Kumbhar noticed that his dog was missing. When he started searching for the dog with his friends, some said, it has joined a group of other dogs and started walking.
Kumbhar said, “After my many attempts to find him, I assumed that he must have gone with the other dogs and later on July 14, I also came home and the next day 'Maharaj' was standing in front of my house, asking and knocking as if nothing had happened. It is a miracle that a lost dog comes back home about 250 km away. We believe that Lord Panduranga must have shown him the way home.
