Waterlogging in the city due to rain, municipal corporation teams engaged in relief and rescue work

Raigarh, July 31 (HS). Due to heavy rains since last night, waterlogging has occurred at many places in the city. Collector Kartikeya Goyal has directed Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sunil Kumar Chandravanshi to carry out disaster relief work in the affected areas.

The municipal corporation team has been engaged in making arrangements for water drainage in the affected areas since 7 am. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sunil Chandravanshi said that more than 200 people, including municipal corporation officials and cleaning staff, are working in teams. 4 JCBs and 1 Pokelin have also been deployed. In the city, teams are working to make arrangements for water drainage in ward number 02 Dhangardipa, ward number 03 behind Sanjay Maidan, Khet Para, Bangla Para, Bhagwanpur, behind Vrindavan Colony, Paithu Dabri areas. So that the problem of water logging can be resolved.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Chandravanshi said that waterlogging has been removed by making drainage arrangements in Dhangardipa, Paithu Dabri, Khet Para, Railway Under Bridge. Work is being done for drainage in Vinoba Nagar and Modi Nagar. Where there will be problems in draining out water from drains, preparations have also been made to empty the water through pumps. He further said that work is being done to remove water logging wherever there is a situation in the entire city. If there is a need to shift people, then preparations have also been made for that in community buildings.
