The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in 20 states, the effect of cloudburst will be seen from east to west

Weather Update: There is still no respite from the troubles pouring from the sky in the form of unseasonal rains. The Meteorological Department has issued red and orange alerts of heavy to very heavy rains at various places in 20 states and union territories from northwest and central to north-east and south India in the next four to five days.

Alert for these states
The IMD has issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rains in Madhya Maharashtra from August 1 to 3 and in coastal Karnataka from July 31 to August 1. Orange alerts have been issued for Konkan and Goa from July 30 to August 3, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from August 1-3, Uttarakhand from July 30 to August 1, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh from July 31 to August 1.
