East Champaran, July 31 (HS). In the case of theft of watches worth 25 lakhs by cutting the shutter of a watch shop in Mumbai, Mumbai police, with the help of the police of Ghorasahan and Shikarganj police station of the district, raided the house of Anita Devi in Parewa village of Shikarganj and Mobin Dewan in Hasan Nagar of Ghorasahan late night and recovered watches worth about ten lakh rupees.
According to the information, in the above mentioned theft case, Mumbai Police had arrested three people including Mobin Dewan in Mumbai itself, who during interrogation had spoken about the involvement of Ghodasahan's shutter cutting gang, after which Mumbai Police recovered stolen watches from his house on his information. 60 stolen mobiles have also been recovered from his house, whose value is said to be around 20 lakh rupees. All the mobiles are also stolen.
According to the Mumbai police that reached Motihari, in the early morning of July 19, the cunning members of the shutter-cutting gang stole watches worth about 25 lakhs from a watch showroom in Mumbai. During the investigation, three people including Mobin Dewan of the shutter-cutting gang were arrested in Mumbai, while others reached Ghodasahan with the stolen watches and hid them in Mobin's house. The police took Mobin to Ghodasahan and Shikarganj on Monday and conducted raids with the local police and recovered the stolen watches and mobiles.
SHO Shambhu Manjhi said that Mumbai Police took the recovered watch and mobile with them. Just two days ago, Mumbai Police had arrested a criminal from Ghodasahan in connection with the theft of iPhones worth Rs. 53 lakhs.
