Ranchi, July 31 (HS). Ranjit Prasad, who retired as IG of CID, died of a sudden heart attack late Tuesday night at Samford Hospital.
According to information received from family on Wednesday, Ranjit Prasad's younger daughter is studying in London. She will come to Ranchi on August 1. After that Ranjit Prasad's body will be taken to his residence. Right now his body is kept in the mortuary of Samford Hospital. He had undergone heart surgery a few days ago. He had held the post of City SP of Ranchi and SP of ACB.
Many senior officers of Jharkhand Police including DIG Naushad Alam, SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha, retired IPS Hemant Toppo, retired IPS Madan Mohan Lal, ACB DIG Shailendra Kumar Barnwal reached on his demise.
There is a wave of mourning in the police department on his demise. Ranjit Prasad was a very kind and energetic police officer. It is noteworthy that IPS Ranjit Prasad also attended the meeting of the Retired IPS Association held at Khukhri Guest House in JAP-1 on Tuesday. During this, many retired IPS officers met him. After finishing the meeting, all the retired IPS officers reached the Police Headquarters to congratulate the new in-charge DGP of Jharkhand Anurag Gupta.
