This incident has shocked everyone. The driver of a private 'sleeper bus' going from Nirmal district of Telangana to Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh allegedly raped a 26-year-old girl. Police gave this information on Tuesday.
Police said the girl called 'Dial 100' after midnight on Monday and informed the police about the incident. At that time the bus was on the outskirts of Hyderabad. A police officer said that the bus was traced and when it slowed down near Metuguda area, the accused driver fled from the spot. The girl told the police that the accused stuffed a cloth in her mouth so that she could not scream and raped her in the moving bus despite the presence of other passengers in the vehicle.
The officer said that at present the accused has been taken into custody and is being questioned. The accused is one of the bus drivers. He said that the woman has been sent to the hospital and based on her complaint, a case has been registered at the Osmania University Police Station and the incident is being investigated.
