A memorandum was submitted to the Governor at the Dhamtari District Electricity Headquarters Arjuni on July 30 in protest against the unbridled increase in electricity rates, unannounced power cuts and the proposed smart meter. Congressmen raised slogans against the unbridled increase in electricity rates and unannounced power cuts.
Under the leadership of Vidhan Sabha Youth Congress President Hitesh Gangbir, a siege was done at the electricity headquarters in Arjuni. MLA Omkar Sahu said that ever since the BJP government has come to power in the state, the lives of common people have become difficult. Be it day or night, power cuts have increased tremendously. The common people of the state are troubled by the continuous power cuts. Hitesh Gangbir said that the budget of the common man has deteriorated due to the increase in electricity bills. Youth Congress leader Gautam Wadhwani said that this government is working to double the economic blow to the common public by installing smart meters. When a poor man is unable to pay his electricity bill in one month, he pays it in the next month, but due to the installation of smart meters, the electricity of the common man will be cut off immediately. Until you recharge, the light of your house will remain off. Further, the leaders of Youth Congress said that in view of all these issues, the order should be canceled. On this occasion Block President Akash Golchha, Guru Gopal Goswami, Krishna Markam State Secretary, Udit Narayan Sahu, Lokendra Sinha, Vishu Devangan, Hem Sahu, Anoop Netam, Vishnu Sinha, Vikram Sahu, Vatanjali Goswami, Ashutosh Khare, Ajay Sinha, Tikendra Sinha, Bhaskar Sinha, Raj Devangan, Aryan Chandel, Dinesh Yadav, Dharmendra Devangan, Dharmendra Patel, Rishabh Thakur, Sheetal Sahu, Tilak Sinha, Chitransh Rajak and a large number of Youth Congress members were present.
