Budget is pro-people, focused on inclusive growth and development: Sethi

Jammu, July 30 (HS). Senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and Chief Spokesperson Advocate Sunil Sethi said that the Union Budget for the financial year 2024-25 is all inclusive which meets the needs and aspirations of all sections of the society. The budget discussion was organized at the party headquarters, Jammu under the leadership of party's Jammu South President Rekha Mahajan in the presence of former MLC Charanjit Singh Khalsa, State Secretary Ayodhya Gupta, Incharge District Jammu Rajiv Chadhak and co-incharge of all BJP cells Ved Sharma.

Sethi said as far as Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, the Union Territory has received a budget of Rs 1,18,390 crore for the financial year 2024-25. For the first time, more than Rs 42,000 crore has been allocated to Jammu and Kashmir as central assistance which includes Rs 12,000 crore for Jammu and Kashmir Police. He said this substantial allocation will help strengthen and modernise the JKP in its fight against terrorists especially at a time when Pakistan is making every effort to revive terrorism here. It will also contribute to strengthening the VDG.

He said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's Seventh Union Budget 2024-25 has revealed the government's new hopes and innovative policies. With an outlay of Rs 2 lakh crore for employment generation schemes, it focuses on creation of 2.90 lakh new jobs for the youth; internship opportunities will be provided to about 1 crore youth as a part of the skill-enhancement programme.

Meanwhile, Rekha Mahajan praised the Finance Minister and said that she is doing an excellent job in managing the country's finances. She said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they have presented a budget that is truly people-centric. The budget's emphasis on education, healthcare and infrastructure development will benefit all sections of the society. Mahajan highlighted the major initiatives of the budget including increased allocation for education and skill development, better healthcare facilities and insurance coverage, boosting infrastructure development including road, railways and airports, etc.
