Several shops, houses and a bridge were damaged in Tosh, a popular trekking spot, due to a cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh's Parvati Valley on Tuesday morning. Let us tell you that Tosh has many Buddhist temples and monasteries. According to reports, the cloudburst occurred around 3 am. The affected people have been taken to a safe place.
Locals said the burst of Abha caused flash floods that damaged public and private properties. It is being said that many gardens have also been destroyed due to the flash floods. Kullu Deputy Commissioner Torull S Ravish said that the incident took place in Tosh area of Manikaran in the morning and there were no casualties. He said that a team has been sent to the spot to assess the situation. He said, 'We appeal to the people to stay away from rivers and canals and not to construct temporary structures near the canals.' The Deputy Commissioner said that construction activity is prohibited during monsoon and strict action will be taken against those violating the rules.
'People are facing problems'
Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said that people are facing a lot of difficulties due to the damage of roads and bridges connecting Nakthan. The BJP leader wrote on the post, 'It is unfortunate that no representative of the Congress government and administration has reached the spot yet. The government should take immediate steps to compensate for the loss. Relief work should be started as soon as possible, including providing assistance to the affected families. There are many beautiful villages in Parvati Valley and a large number of tourists visit here.
Roads closed for traffic in many districts
Let us tell you that on Monday, the Meteorological Department had issued an 'Orange' warning of heavy to very heavy rain, thunder and lightning in 7 districts of Himachal Pradesh during the next 2 days. The Emergency Operations Center said that a total of 45 roads, including 29 in Mandi, 8 in Kullu, 4 in Shimla and 2 each in Kangra and Kinnaur districts, were closed for traffic and 215 transformers were damaged across the state. The Meteorological Department has also issued a 'Yellow Alert' of heavy rain at some places in the state on July 30 and August 2. Monsoon activity is likely to intensify with heavy rains in the state in the next 4-5 days.
