Controversy broke out during election duty in Gujarat

Abhishek Singh was sent to Delhi on deputation for three years in 2015. After which, in the year 2018, his tenure was extended for two years, but at that time Abhishek Singh was on medical leave. After this, Delhi government sent Abhishek Singh to the basic cadre of UP. He joined duty on 30 June 2022 after a long leave. Abhishek Singh was made an observer by the Election Commission of India for the Gujarat Assembly elections in 2022. During this time, he got his photo clicked in front of the government vehicle and uploaded it on social media. The Election Commission called it indiscipline and removed him from the duty of observer on 18 November 2022. After this he returned to Uttar Pradesh.
