The government has come into action after the death of three students due to sudden flooding in the basement of Rao Coaching Center in Delhi on Sunday.
Bulldozer action is being taken on illegal construction in Old Rajinder Nagar. Local officials and police have been sent to the spot. Wherever illegal construction has been done, bulldozers have been used to demolish it. According to an MCD official, two bulldozers have been deployed to dig ramps and additional constructions in the building, where pressure has been put and the work of making drains has been completed. Earlier, the police had arrested five people in this case. Two other persons were arrested, making a total of seven arrests. Which includes the owner of the basement, the driver of an SUV vehicle.
MCD had formed a special committee for investigation
The authorities have sealed the basements of 13 coaching classes. The MCD has formed a committee to investigate the incident after three students died due to waterlogging in the basement of Rao Coaching Classes. The 13 coaching centres that have been sealed include IAS Gurukul, Chahal Academy, Plutus Academy, Sai Trading, IAS Setu, Toppers Academy, Dainik Samvad, Civils Daily IAS, Career Power, 99 Notes, Vidya Guru, Guidance IAS and Easy for IAS. There was no drainage system in the basement where the incident took place. A library was built there by misusing the permission given for storage.
