Court News: Ajmer's TADA court has acquitted terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda in the 1993 serial bomb blast case. Apart from this, two other accused in this case, Irfan (Irfan) and Hamiduddin (Hamiduddin) have been sentenced to life imprisonment. Tunda is currently lodged in Ajmer jail.
The court gave its decision after almost 30 years
After the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, there were serial bomb blasts in trains in Kota, Lucknow, Kanpur, Hyderabad, Surat and Mumbai in 1993 and Tunda was an accused in these cases. The court has given its verdict in the serial bomb blast case after almost 30 years. Judge Mahavir Prasad Gupta of Ajmer's TADA court acquitted terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda after examining numerous witnesses, evidence and years of deliberations. Abdul Karim Tunda's lawyer Shafqat Sultani said that the court did not accept the allegations made by the CBI court and acquitted the accused. Apart from this, the court has also convicted two other accused Irfan and Hamimuddin in this case and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
Supreme Court acquitted all four accused
In this case, TADA Court had sentenced 16 accused to life imprisonment on 28 February 2004. In which the Supreme Court acquitted four accused and upheld the sentence of the remaining accused lodged in Jaipur jail. TADA Court Judge Mahavir Prasad Gupta gave his verdict against Abdul Karim Tunda, Hameeduddin and Irfan Ahmed. In which Abdul Karim Tunda has been declared innocent. Hameeduddin and Irfan were accused of carrying out bomb blasts in cities of Andhra Pradesh, UP, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra, while Abdul Karim Tunda was accused of being the mastermind.
