Chaibasa, July 30 (HS). The train accident that took place in Barabambo of Chakradharpur Railway Division in Chaibasa district of Jharkhand is heart-rending. Howrah-Mumbai Mail Express (12810) going from Howrah to Mumbai met with an accident between Rajkharsawan-Badabanbo station of Chakradharpur division at around 3:40 am on Tuesday. At present, relief and rescue operations are going on. People are shocked to see the condition of the derailed coaches. More than 20 passengers have been injured in the accident. The number of injured is expected to increase. There is news of death of two passengers. DDC Prabhat Kumar of Saraikela has said that all the passengers have been taken out of the train.
He said that the passengers who died were trapped in the train's bathroom. The injured have been taken to the hospital by buses. Eight injured have been admitted to Chakradharpur Railway Division Hospital. Before reaching there, it met with an accident ahead of Barabamboo at 3:45 am.
According to eyewitnesses, many coaches of the train collided with each other. Some even got twisted. Many coaches got badly stuck to each other. According to officials, traffic on the Howrah-Mumbai route is completely stalled. After the accident, the goods train and train coaches have spread far and wide. Due to this, the third line has also been affected. Due to the accident, the overhead line, poles and railway tracks have also been badly damaged.
