PM Modi expressed grief over Wayanad disaster, assured all possible help to Kerala CM

New Delhi, July 30 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of life and property due to rain and landslide in Wayanad, Kerala today. Prime Minister Modi has said on the X handle, “I am saddened by the landslides in some parts of Wayanad. My condolences are with all those who have lost their loved ones and I pray for the recovery of those who are injured.”

Prime Minister Modi has said that rescue operations are underway in Wayanad. He has spoken to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in this regard. He has assured Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan of all possible central help.

According to the news so far, rain has caused heavy destruction in Wayanad district of Kerala. More than 100 people are feared trapped in the landslide that occurred early this morning. Five of the people trapped in the landslide have died. These include two children. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has started relief and rescue operations on a large scale. Two helicopters of the Air Force have also been deployed in the relief and rescue operation.
