Punjab NRI Family Robbery Case: Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal reached Chimnewala village in Fazilka and met the NRI family who were attacked in Haryana recently while coming from Delhi to Punjab.
Talking to journalists on this occasion, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that he has written a letter to the Chief Minister and DGP of Haryana demanding that the accused involved in the said incident be identified and punished. He also said that he has sought time to meet the Chief Minister of Haryana so that pressure can be put on the Haryana government to ensure the safety of Punjabis traveling between Delhi and Punjab.
He demanded the Haryana government to make adequate security arrangements on the roads connecting Punjab to Delhi. On this occasion, he also said that in the above case, Sukhwinder Kaur, who had returned from abroad, and her husband Buta Singh had gone to pick her up from Delhi and they were attacked on the way.
He said that by taking prompt action during this incident, driver Lakhwinder Singh has been saved from major loss of life, in view of which the Cabinet Minister has also announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to the concerned driver. Meanwhile, he also believed that driver Lakhwinder Singh will be given a bravery award by the Punjab government!
