Ahmedabad, 29 July (HS). Railways has launched 'One Station One Product' (OSOP) scheme with the aim of promoting the 'Vocal for Local' vision of the Central Government. Its objective is to provide a market for local and indigenous products and to generate additional income opportunities for the marginalized sections of the society. Under this scheme, one station one product outlets are allocated for display, sale and high visibility of indigenous/local products at railway stations.
Senior Public Relations Officer of Ahmedabad Division Jitendra Kumar Jayant said that the Railways is fully committed to promote craftsmanship and creativity by providing authentic regional products to passengers at the railway station. He said that under the “One Station One Product” (OSOP) scheme, a stall has been allotted to the artisan of “Embroidery and Zari, Zardoshi” work for 30 days at the railway station.
