Guwahati, July 29 (HS). Assam Governor cum Chancellor Gulab Chand Kataria today administered the oath to Professor Nani Gopal Mahanta as Vice Chancellor of Guwahati University, Professor Dhanapati Deka as Vice Chancellor of Bhattadev University and Professor Manabendra Dutta Chaudhury as Vice Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University at a ceremony held at the Conference Hall of Raj Bhavan here.
Earlier, Governor's Secretary Kabita Deka sought the Governor's permission to start the proceedings of the ceremony.
Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu, Vice Chancellor Secretariat Advisor Professor MK Choudhary, Higher Education Secretary Narayan Konwar, IIT-Guwahati Director Professor Devendra Jalihal and senior state government officials attended the ceremony.
