Chief Electoral Officer gave instructions regarding pending works related to voter list revision

Ranchi, July 29 (HS). Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar held a meeting with Inspector General of Police (Campaign) cum State Police Nodal Officer, all Range IGs, all DIGs, all Deputy Commissioners cum District Electoral Officers and Senior Superintendents of Police and Superintendents of Police of all districts through video conference on Monday in order to prepare for the upcoming assembly elections. During this, the Chief Electoral Officer also gave special instructions to the District Electoral Officers of all the districts regarding the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections and activities related to the publication of voter list. He reviewed the election related issues pointwise through video conferencing from the Election House today.

He said that the Election Commission of India is likely to visit Jharkhand within the next one month to review the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. For this, all state level officers, District Election Officers of the districts, Superintendents of Police should prepare a report by making systematic preparations for all election related issues of their districts.

He said that after analysing the data of the last Lok Sabha elections, prepare a timely blueprint of preparations for the assembly elections in accordance with the current circumstances. He gave necessary instructions to the officials regarding publication of voter list, law and order, vehicle management, ex-gratia grant etc.

On this occasion, State Police Nodal Officer AV Homkar also gave many necessary guidelines to the Superintendents of Police of all the districts from his level for the preparations of the upcoming assembly elections. He asked to assess the number of police force required for maintaining law and order, the status of helipads and prepare an updated list of vulnerable polling stations. Both Additional Chief Electoral Officers, Joint Chief Electoral Officers, all Range IGs, all DIGs, all Deputy Commissioners cum District Electoral Officers and Superintendents of Police of all the districts were present through video conferencing.
