There is a political uproar in Delhi after the coaching incident. The opposition is blaming the Delhi government and the MCD for this incident. On Sunday, a protest by students was also seen on Karol Bagh Metro Station Road. On the other hand, ABVP workers were seen protesting outside the mayor's house.
In Delhi, MCD has started action against coaching institutes violating the rules
After the coaching incident in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, MCD has come into action. MCD has started the process of sealing 13 coaching centers in the area which are violating the rules in the basement. MCD is pasting notices on those coaching institutes and asking for answers from them. On Sunday, MCD pasted notices on many such coaching centers in Rajendra Nagar.
Delhi Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi posted on Instagram against coaching centers. She said that after yesterday's tragic incident, the MCD has started the process of sealing all the coaching centers in Rajendra Nagar which were violating the rules in the basement. She said that if needed, this campaign will be run all over Delhi. She has also shared several pictures in her post. In which notices can be seen pasted on the doors.
Water filled in the basement, 3 students died
There was chaos in a coaching centre located in Rajendra Nagar of the capital when rain water entered the basement. Within no time, the 8 feet deep basement was completely submerged in water. Students prepare for civil service examination in the coaching centre. Three students died due to drowning in water. After the incident, the Delhi government and MCD have come under the scanner.
The Lieutenant Governor said- this points to negligence
After the incident, Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has said that this accident points to criminal negligence of the concerned agencies. He directed the divisional commissioner to submit a report on the incident that took place at a coaching center in Rajendra Nagar. The Lieutenant Governor said that he is very saddened by the incident of death of civil service candidates.
'It is very unfortunate that this incident happened in the capital'
In a post on Twitter, the Lt Governor said that it is extremely unfortunate and unacceptable that such an incident has taken place in the capital of India. These incidents clearly point to criminal negligence and failure of basic maintenance and management by the concerned agencies and departments. The city has clearly failed to maintain drainage and related infrastructure as well as the efforts required to address these problems.
