Mumbai: Mumbra police arrested Imtiaz Merchant, one of the accused in the 1997 T-Series Gulshan Kumar murder case, for possessing mephedrone (MD). Imtiaz Merchant is the brother of Abdul Rauf Merchant, the main accused in the Gulshan Kumar murder case. Police seized 64 grams of mephedrone from Imtiaz.
In this regard, Senior Inspector of Mumbra Police Station Anil Shinde said that Imtiaz himself was also accused in the murder of T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar in 1997, but he was acquitted. He was allegedly selling drugs for a long time in the limits of Mumbra and Daighar police station. In this regard, Shinde said that a case has been registered against Imtiaz under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and further investigation is going on.
