IMD has warned of heavy rains in these states this week, there will be heavy rains in many areas today

IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a detailed forecast predicting heavy rains in different parts of the country this week. The Meteorological Department has said that Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan may receive heavy rains today i.e. on Monday (29 July). Rains are expected to continue till July 30 in some other states including Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

The IMD weather bulletin said, “Light to moderate rains with thunderstorms and lightning are expected over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand this week. Scattered to fairly widespread rains are expected over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan.”

IMD forecast issued in these states

– The weather agency has also predicted 'heavy rain' at isolated places along with increased rainfall activity over eastern parts of the country from Tuesday, July 30. Madhya Pradesh is also likely to receive widespread heavy rainfall. Coastal Karnataka and Kerala have also been warned of floods in some areas due to heavy rains.

– IMD forecasts indicate that these intense rainfall patterns are likely to continue, with potential impact extending to other parts of the country. The weather department has said that areas already receiving heavy rainfall should prepare for further rainfall. People have been advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

– The Meteorological Department has predicted “very heavy rain” in Odisha on July 29. Apart from this, heavy rains are also expected at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 24 hours.

– IMD has said that Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan may receive rain during this period. Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh may also receive rain. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand are likely to receive widespread light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning till July 29. Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan will receive scattered to widespread rain.

Western India

– Very heavy rains are likely over Konkan and Goa on 29th July.

– There is a possibility of rain in Saurashtra and Kutch on 29th July.

– Many states of Gujarat will receive heavy rains on 29th July also.

Northern India

– Very heavy rain is expected in Uttarakhand on 29th July.

– A yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh till July 30.

– Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad will receive heavy rainfall on 29th July.

– There will be rain in Haryana-Chandigarh on 29th and 30th July.

– Heavy rain is expected in Punjab on 30th July.

Southern India

– Kerala, Mahe, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka are likely to receive rains till July 30.

North East India

– Odisha will receive very heavy rainfall at some places till July 30.

– Heavy rainfall is likely at some places in Arunachal Pradesh on 29th July.

– Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur will receive rain on 29th and 30th July.

– Many districts of Jharkhand will receive heavy rains on 29th and 30th July.
