Punjab Weather Update: The heat in Punjab is increasing continuously. Due to the speed of monsoon, the temperature has once again reached close to 40 degrees. Monsoon arrived in Punjab almost before July 1, yet the entire state recorded much less rain than normal for the entire month. Due to which Punjab has reached the red zone.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in 6 districts Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Pathankot till 9 am today. There is a possibility of good rain in Punjab today and in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding rain in 5 districts of Punjab. This alert has been issued for the districts adjoining Himachal Pradesh.

According to this, there is a possibility of rain in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr. A yellow alert for rain has been issued in various districts of Punjab till July 31. It is being estimated that there may be good rain in Punjab these days. Despite being the monsoon month, drought conditions persisted in July. Till July 28, only 82.8 mm of rain has been recorded in Punjab. According to the Meteorological Department, 136.6 mm of rain has occurred in 28 days of this month, but it is 43 percent less, which is a matter of concern.

Talking about Fatehgarh Sahib, it has received the least rainfall in the state. It has received 71 percent less rainfall than normal. Whereas Pathankot received 29 percent more rainfall than normal and Tarn Taran and Mansa also received normal rainfall.
