NITI Aayog Meeting: To prepare a blueprint to make India a developed nation by the year 2047, a meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the meeting, a 'vision' to make India a developed nation by 2047 was presented. According to the vision, the per capita income will have to be reached to Rs 15 lakh annually by 2047, currently it is around Rs 2 lakh. It will have to be increased eight times from the current level. Similarly, the GDP will have to be increased from the current 3.3 trillion dollars to 30 trillion dollars. It will have to be increased nine times.
The social indicators of developed India are also assessed in the vision. In such a situation, the average age of Indians in 2047 will be 84 years, whereas at present it is 71 years. Then the total fertility rate will fall from the current 2.03 to 1.8. But this does not mean that the population will decrease. Today the population of the country is 140 crores but then it will reach 165 crores. But then this population will become the strength of the country. Out of 165 crore people, 112 crore people will be in the working age group. At present there are 96 crore people in this category. Then India will be the country with the highest number of working people.
According to the developed hypothesis, India's literacy rate will be 100%, which at present has barely reached 77%. Similarly, the standard of living of the people will improve so much that the infant mortality rate will decrease to only two. At present it is 28 per thousand. Regarding women, it was said that the participation of women in the workforce will reach 70 percent, which is currently only 37 percent. Gender equality will improve and India will be included in the top 10 countries. At present it is at number 122.
The aim is to make the village poverty free
To achieve the goal of developed India, the states will not only have to make strategies to change the living standards of the people. But along with this, the states will also have to make detailed action plans to attract investment. To achieve the goal of developed India, the states have been given the target of making poverty free villages. This information was given in a press conference organized by the Commission on Saturday evening after the meeting of NITI Aayog. NITI Aayog Chief Executive Officer BVR Subramaniam said that constructive meetings have been held with the states on all points to achieve the goal of developed India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed on three important issues to make India developed by 2047.
1. The goal is to create poverty-free villages
The first issue of the meeting is to create poverty free villages (zero poor villages). To eradicate poverty, the state and central governments will work together to provide clean drinking water, health and education and electricity 24 hours a day, seven days a week to the people. Work will be done on residential facilities along with banking and broadband connections. Skill development training will be given to the youth to provide better employment opportunities and make them entrepreneurs. This includes promoting artificial intelligence in agriculture, medicine and other fields to improve lifestyle using technology. The state and central governments will work together to facilitate the availability of transport for the people.
2. Creating an investment friendly environment in the states
The second important issue in the meeting was industrial development. Commission member Dr. Arvind Virmani said that except for a few states, the environment for investment is not conducive in other states. Therefore, all states will have to formulate a policy at their level that promotes investment incentives. This will help in attracting foreign investment at the state level.
3. The goal is to solve floods
The third issue in the Niti Aayog meeting was floods. The states said that a large part of the country is affected by floods, due to which the common people as well as the central and state governments are suffering economic losses. Every year lakhs of people are forced to migrate. In such a situation, there is a need to run a campaign like 'River Linking' to solve the flood problem, on which there is a consensus between the Center and the states.
4. The state will prepare the plan at its own level
To achieve the goal of economic development, states will prepare plans keeping in mind economic and social development. So far, states like Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have prepared action plans for economic development in their states. The remaining states will also prepare plans soon and submit them to the NITI Aayog.
5. Major changes are needed in the agriculture sector
NITI Aayog member Prof. Ramesh Chandra said that the agriculture sector will play an important role in achieving the goal of developed India. This includes increasing production capacity with the states and ensuring access to fertile seeds to farmers. There is a need to develop better technology for farmers, proper irrigation system as well as high quality storage system of agricultural produce.
