Kolkata, July 28 (HS). The weather will remain generally cloudy in Kolkata and its surrounding areas during the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected. Along with this, the heat will also persist. Similar weather is going to remain for a whole week. Information about this has been given in a statement issued on Sunday by the regional headquarters of the Meteorological Department located in Alipore. It has been told that a slight drop in temperature can be seen, in which the maximum temperature is likely to be around 32˚C and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 27˚C.

According to the latest weather update, Kolkata has recorded 10.8 mm of rain from 6:30 am on July 27 to 6:30 am on July 28. While 9.6 mm of rain has been recorded since 8:30 am on July 27. The maximum humidity was 92 per cent and the minimum humidity was 72 per cent.

Apart from Kolkata, the weather will be similar in other districts of Bengal. According to the forecast, heavy rain is expected in South 24 Parganas in the next 24 hours. The maximum temperature will be 31˚C and the minimum temperature will be 26˚C. Humidity can reach 95 percent.

North 24 Parganas may witness light rain and thundershowers. The temperature will hover between 32˚C and 27˚C. Humidity is likely to be 90 per cent.

Hooghly district is also likely to have cloudy weather with light rain. The temperature will be between 31˚C and 26˚C. Humidity may reach 88 percent.

Howrah district may witness light rain and thundershowers. The maximum temperature will be 32˚C and the minimum temperature will be 27˚C. Humidity is likely to be 91 per cent.

Moderate rain is expected in Nadia district. The temperature will remain between 31˚C and 26˚C. Humidity may reach 89 percent.

The weather department has advised the public to be cautious, especially in areas where heavy rains are expected. The local administration has also instructed citizens to make necessary preparations so that any emergency can be dealt with.

Continuous rain will continue in North Bengal's Alipurdurwar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts. When the rain stops, there will be a feeling of heat.
