The water level of the Panchganga river has increased from the danger mark of 43 feet to 47.8 feet and has stabilized. More than 40 roads have been closed, due to which many villages have lost contact. 34 people trapped at flood-affected sites have been safely evacuated by the rescue team. While 7,000 people have been relocated. Two teams of NDRF and fire brigade personnel are carrying out rescue operations among the people from flood-affected areas.
According to the information, it has not been raining since Sunday morning but water is being released from Radhanagari and dams into the Panchganga river, due to which the water level of the river is expected to rise. Although two automatic gates of the Radhanagari dam were closed on Sunday morning, at present the water is being released from only two gates of the dam. The water level of Panchganga, which was 46.4 feet on Friday, reached 47.8 feet at 9 pm on Saturday, which has remained stable.
Due to the rising water level of the Panchganga river, flood water has entered areas like Ideal Colony, Gaikwadwada, Panchganga Taleem, Sutarwada, Sita Colony, CPR Chowk, Lakshatirth Colony, Khanvilkar behind Vishwakarma Apartment, Vince Hospital, Polo Ground Ramanmala Palace Orchid Apartment, Mali Mala, Ulpe Mala, Mukta Sainik Colony, Sapphire Park etc. Due to this, the life of Kolhapur residents has been disrupted. In the last 24 hours, 48 concrete houses and 402 kutcha houses have collapsed in the district due to rain and flood. Apart from this, 50 animal sheds have also collapsed. Public properties have suffered a loss of Rs 1 lakh 97 thousand, while 503 private properties have suffered a loss of Rs 2 crore 2 lakh 85 thousand.
