Ranchi, July 27 (HS). The bail plea of former minister Alamgir Alam in the tender commission case was heard in the court of PMLA Special Judge PK Sharma on Saturday. Two advocates from Delhi came to argue on bail on behalf of former minister Alamgir Alam. Also, ED's Joseph Hussain joined through video conferencing. Meanwhile, the secretary of Ranchi District Bar Association arrived and said that how is the hearing taking place when there is condolence. After this, the next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for August 3.
Former minister Alamgir Alam is in jail on charges of money laundering of a large amount received from tender commission. The chargesheet was filed 64 days after Alamgir Alam's arrest. After this, he has pleaded for bail. ED arrested him on May 15. Since then he is in jail. This arrest has been made in the case of Rs 32.30 crore cash recovered from his PS Sanjeev Kumar Lal and his servant Jahangir Alam. After the arrest, ED interrogated him for 14 consecutive days by taking him on police remand. ED has filed a chargesheet in this case on July 4. In this case, suspended Chief Engineer of Rural Development Department Virendra Ram and other accused are in jail.
