The collector visited the flood area, met the affected people and reviewed the arrangements

Balodabazar, 27 July (HS). Collector Deepak Soni reached village Darchura on Saturday morning to take stock of the area affected by the continuous rain in the district and the breaking of the Devri Dih reservoir under Simga development block.

He inspected the broken reservoir site and after discussing with the officials of the Water Resources Department, he gave necessary directions for its filling and repair work.

During this, Collector Shri Soni also reached Ganeshpur village. He met the affected people at the temporary relief camp set up in the community hall and enquired about their well-being. He told everyone that there is no need to panic, the district administration is ready to help you all 24 hours a day, your accommodation, food and health will be completely taken care of by our team. During this, he discussed with the top officials of NDRF and SDRF and took detailed information related to rescue.

During this, he has instructed all the officers to remain in the field and alert. Revenue officers have been instructed to send the damage assessment report to the district office within 48 hours. Along with this, the village secretary and agriculture department officials have also been instructed to help in this work. Along with this, the collector visited the affected area including village Vishampur and met the affected people and took stock of their well-being. According to the information received from the district office, so far a total of 36 people from Ganeshpur villages have been shifted to a safe place. In which 15 people are in the relief camp and the rest are staying at their relatives' place. The district administration team is constantly monitoring the situation. All the revenue officers are staying in the field and taking stock of the situation. During the inspection, SDM Anshul Verma, CEO Amit Dubey, Naib Tehsildar Harish Yadav, Anirudh Mishra, BMO and officers and employees of various departments were present.

Instructions to district officials

Along with this, Collector Deepak Soni has given separate instructions to the district officials under which wherever there is a need to shift people due to waterlogging, they should be shifted there immediately. Instructions have been given not to be negligent in this work. Along with this, all the people at the shelter have been instructed to drink only boiled water. Instructions have been given to the officials to close the schools and Anganwadi centers of the said affected area for the next three days.
