Kullu, 27 July (HS). Police has recovered a huge consignment of heroin under Manali police station. After arresting the accused, the process of presenting them in the court to obtain police remand is being completed.
The case of drug smuggling came to light on Friday late evening when the police team was patrolling at the Volvo bus stand. During this time, two youths present there tried to hide after seeing the police. The police caught both the youths on the basis of suspicion. 40 grams of heroin (chitta) was recovered from them during the search. The police seized the consignment of drugs and arrested the accused.
Superintendent of Police Dr. Karthikeyan said that the police have registered a case under the Narcotics Act against the accused Labh Singh (26), son of Charanjit Singh, resident of Johlan Tehsil Raikot District Ludhiana (Punjab) and Ram Singh (29 years), son of Malkit Singh, resident of village and post office Nihaluwal Tehsil and District Barnala (Punjab).
