The National Testing Agency today announced the new revised result of the controversial NEET-UG, 2024, officials said in a statement.
In view of the Supreme Court's decision, the NTA was forced to revise the result. The NTA argued that since the two options in the Physics question were correct, whichever option was chosen, four marks were given to it.
However, the Supreme Court in its decision said that the new book should be considered to decide the answer to this question and the option given on the basis of the old book should be considered wrong. Earlier, NTA had considered the answers of both the old and new books as correct and gave four marks to the students who chose both the options.
At first, when the NEET-UG 2024 result was declared, 67 students scored 720 out of 720 marks. However, later the NTA removed the students who got passing marks from this list. After this, the number of students who got full marks came down to 61.
Now, after correction in marks of one question of Physics as per the order of the Supreme Court, the number of students getting full marks has come down to 17.
In the new revised result, the marks of 44 students who got full marks have come down to 715. Four marks for questions and one mark for negative marking have been deducted for 4.20 lakh students including 44 toppers.
Let us tell you that the NEET-UG 2024 exam was conducted on 5 May 2024. After this exam, 1563 students complained about the shortage of time. Due to which NTA gave them grace marks. However, due to the controversy, NTA re-examined such students on 23 June 2024.
