How to make Onion and Tamarind Chutney?

  1. – Turn on the gas and heat oil in a pan on medium flame. – Now add chopped onion in this oil and fry it till it turns golden.
  2. When the onion turns golden brown, add tamarind paste, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 tsp ground cumin, 1/4 tsp coriander, salt to taste, 1-2 dried red chillies and fry well. Mix it.
  3. – Now let it boil. When it starts boiling, reduce the flame and cook for 10-15 minutes or until the chutney thickens.
  4. Turn off the gas after 15 minutes. Your spicy tamarind chutney is ready. Take it off the gas and let it cool.
  5. You can also store this chutney. When the chutney cools down, you can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
