A man from Bihar has been arrested in the US for selling and smuggling fake cancer medicines. Sanjay Kumar is accused of selling and smuggling fake pharmaceuticals worth thousands of dollars in the US. According to the case filed in the court, Sanjay and his partner bought fake medicines and sent them to the US.
Immunotherapy is used to treat 19 types of cancer in the United States. It is manufactured and distributed by an American organization. No one other than a private company is allowed to manufacture and sell it in the US. Therefore, the case against the accused has become strong.
Accused Sanjay Kumar behind bars
A man named Sanjay Kumar, a native of Bihar, was arrested in Houston, USA on June 26. According to the information, when the police arrested this man, he had gone to America from India with the aim of expanding his business. Sanjay Kumar has been accused of conspiracy and smuggling of four fake medicines. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison in each case. If 43-year-old Sanjay is convicted, he will return to India as an old man after 20 years. There has been no response from the Foreign Ministry of India in this entire matter.
The trend of fake medicines is increasing rapidly in India
Many such cases have come to light in India as well. Last month, ED and Crime Branch raided several places in Delhi NCR regarding fake cancer medicines. About 10 people were arrested. According to the information, the accused arrested in this raid used to work in the cancer department of different hospitals in Delhi and was selling fake medicines to patients.
