Anushka Sharma's father Colonel (Retd) Ajay Sharma was also a part of the Kargil war. Nana Patekar is counted among the powerful actors of Bollywood. During the Kargil war, he took a break from acting and wanted to join the war. Nana said in an interview, 'I made many attempts to join the army during the war. But being a civilian, I was not allowed to join the war.'

Vikramjit Kanwarpal
Vikramjit Kanwarpal, who has appeared in films like 'Page 3', 'Don' and '2 States', retired as a Major in 2002. He died in 2021 at the age of 52 due to Covid. Vikramjit told his childhood friend about being a part of the Kargil war. After the war, he started his career in Bollywood and played a Pakistani army officer in the 2007 film '1971'.
Ranavijay Singh Singha
'MTV Roadies' fame host and actor Rannvijay Singh Singha always wanted to join the army. His father Lieutenant General Iqbal Singh Singha was a part of the Kargil war. Rannvijay told that during the war he was studying in Army Public School located in Dhaula Kuan, Delhi. His father was commanding a regiment in Rajouri-Poonch sector during the war.

Famous actress Gul Panag's father, retired Lieutenant General Harcharanjit Singh Panag (HS Panag) played an important role during the Kargil war. The Kargil war ended in July 1999, but the army still had big responsibilities. In January 2000, HS Panag led an operation in the Yaldor sector.
