Kishanganj, 26 July (HS). The auction for Veer Kunwar Singh Bus Stand located in the Municipal Council area was held in March and the contractor also got the contract for revenue collection at Veer Kunwar Singh Bus Stand from April 1, 2024, but the amount quoted by the contractor in the auction has not yet been deposited in the Municipal Council office.
Many contractors were waiting to bid for Veer Kunwar Singh Bus Stand for the financial year 2024-25, but by placing the highest bid, Mohd Azad got the post for Rs 1 crore 90 lakh. After adding many other charges to it, the amount comes to around Rs 2 crore 7 lakh. In this, contractor Mohd Azad has deposited only Rs 1 crore till July 25.
If sources are to be believed, then the contractor gets the contract to collect the fee at the bus stand only after depositing the full amount as per the rules. If sources are to be believed, then the Municipal Council has written several letters to the contractor for recovery of the outstanding amount of the fee quoted in the post, but till now the contractor has not deposited the outstanding amount. The contractor asks for time to deposit the remaining amount.
The question arises that why till now the Nagar Parishad is not pressurizing the contractor to deposit the amount or else it is cancelling the contractor's contract and giving the contract to the contractor who has placed the second bid in the auction. This question remains. Meanwhile Nagar Parishad President Indradev Paswan said that a notice for recovery of the amount has been sent from the office of the Executive Officer of the Nagar Parishad. Legal action will be taken if the amount is not deposited.
Municipal Council Executive Officer Praveen Kumar said that till now the contractor has deposited only one crore rupees. A final notice has been issued for recovery of the remaining amount. Action will be taken if the amount is not deposited.
