Washington: An elderly man of Gujarati origin has been murdered in the US state of Alabama. A citizen of Gujarati origin had a hotel business and he had a dispute with a customer regarding a room. Because of this the customer shot and killed the 76 year old hotel owner.
Pravin Raojibhai Patel's Hillcrest Motel was located in Sheffield. According to police, 34-year-old William Jeremy Moore has been arrested.
According to the police officer, the accused wanted to rent a room. The young man got angry and shot Patel with his gun.
The police immediately arrested the young man who committed the murder. During the search after his arrest, a gun was recovered from him. Statements of witnesses present at the scene were also taken.
The Asian American Hotel Owners Association has expressed grief over this incident. AAHOA President Bharat Patel said such senseless acts of violence have no place in our community.
He expressed hope that the American police will investigate the incident and provide justice to Patel's family. It is noteworthy that in recent times some Indians have been murdered in America.
