Sensex and Nifty opened with gains on the last day of trading

The Indian stock market opened in the green zone today i.e. Friday, July 26, the last day of trading. Yesterday, Thursday, the stock market closed with a decline. Earlier yesterday, i.e. on July 25, the stock market saw a decline and then recovery. The Sensex rose 562 points from the day's low and closed at 80,039, down 109 points.

Nifty also saw a recovery of 196 points, then closed at 24,406 with a fall of 7 points. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 16 declined and 14 rose. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 25 declined and 25 rose. After the Union Budget presented on 23 July, the market is witnessing a continuous decline. Metal and pharma saw the highest gains.

Top gainers on NSE on Friday were Bharti Airtel, Hindalco, Coal India, Tata Steel and Kotak Mahindra Bank, while the biggest losers were Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, Tata Consumer, Maruti Suzuki and Axis Bank.

According to provisional data available on NSE, on 25 July 2024, foreign institutional investors invested Rs. 2,605.49 crore worth of shares were sold, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold Rs. 2,431.69 crore worth of shares were bought. Apart from this, on Friday morning, the price of WTI crude rose 0.08% to $ 78.34 and the price of Brent crude rose 0.06% to $ 82.42.
