After one and a half years, the land has started sinking again in Joshimath, Uttarakhand, due to which the local people are in panic. Due to landslides, big pits have formed on Manohar Bagh road of Joshimath. Houses are also getting damaged due to landslides. In January 2023 also, cracks appeared in the houses due to landslides in Joshimath.
After this, many scientific organizations conducted a survey. More than 800 houses in the city area have been surveyed and placed in the red zone. The entire Joshimath city has been divided into high risk zone, medium/low risk zone and green zone. After the recent rains, cracks were also seen at some places in Ravi village area of Joshimath. However, the local system says that no major incident has happened in the city area so far. Wherever there are some problems, they will be resolved. It is worth noting that no housing arrangement has been made for those people living in Joshimath, whose houses were damaged due to landslide in January last year. They are forced to live in broken houses even during the rainy season. The number of such houses in Joshimath is about 800. Out of these, 215 houses are occupied by people, while they are not fit for living.
