Heavy rain in Mumbai: Continuous rains in Mumbai and surrounding areas have disrupted life and affected several flights at Mumbai airport. Due to which hundreds of passengers are troubled at Mumbai airport. Flight operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport have been severely disrupted due to continuous and heavy rains in Mumbai for the last several days, forcing major airlines to issue passenger advisories.

IndiGo said that its flights are getting delayed from time to time due to the incessant rain. The low-cost airline said that it is trying to provide real-time updates to passengers, but everyone is advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport. IndiGo said, 'We are continuously working to ensure smooth operations and hope that these delays will reduce a bit once the weather improves.'
Meanwhile, Air India has also warned its passengers about possible problems. Air India has advised its passengers that flights to and from Mumbai may be affected due to heavy rains. Passengers are advised to leave for the airport early as there may be slow travel and delay in movement due to waterlogging.
Check flight status before going to the airport
SpiceJet has also expressed similar concerns. The airlines said that all departures and arrivals at Mumbai airport, as well as their consequent flights, may be affected due to adverse weather conditions. “Passengers are requested to keep checking their flight status,” the airline advised.
Visibility reduced due to heavy rain
Flight operations at the Mumbai airport were briefly suspended on Thursday morning due to poor visibility caused by heavy rains and strong winds. Operations resumed about 20 minutes later at 10.55 am with visibility 1000 metres and runway visual range (RVR) 1200 metres.
Along with this, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said, 'Since this morning, I am reviewing the situation of heavy rains and floods in various districts of Maharashtra, especially Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Kolhapur and Sangli from my office.' He said that the disaster management system of all the districts and the concerned officials of the district system have been ordered to provide immediate assistance to the people without any delay in rescue and relief work.
