Mumbai-Pune rail service affected due to torrential rains, NDRF team deployed in Badlapur

Mumbai, 25 July (HS). Due to heavy rains for the last two days, Central Railway has postponed many trains between Mumbai-Pune. Due to the water of Ulhas river entering Badlapur city, many buildings have been flooded. To take all those stranded in the city to a safe place, the NDRF team has reached the city and people are being rescued with the help of boats.

It has been raining heavily between Kalyan and Pune for the last two days. Due to rain in Lonavala, Karjat, Wangani etc. areas and waterlogging in the rivers in Pune, the Ulhas and Baladhuni rivers have also crossed the danger mark. Due to this, low lying areas in Wangani, Badlapur, Ambarnath and Kalyan cities have been flooded. The ancient Shiva temple of Ambarnath has been submerged due to the flood water of the Ulhas river entering the cities. Due to similar floods, the railway track near Wangani station was washed away two years ago.

Due to this, Central Railway has cancelled Mumbai Pune Deccan Queen Express, Mumbai Pune Pragati Express and Pune Mumbai Intercity Express for today and Friday as a precautionary measure. Therefore, passengers are facing a lot of trouble between Pune-Mumbai and Mumbai-Pune. Similarly, knee-deep water has entered the houses of more than 200 citizens on the banks of Waldhuni in Shivajinagar area of ​​Kalyan. The citizens here have been shifted by Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation.
