Bhagalpur, July 25 (HS). Villagers protested against road construction work in Suryalok Colony of Babarganj police station area of the district on Thursday. The angry villagers started creating a ruckus. They even stopped the road construction work and blocked the road.
The angry villagers say that we are residents of Qutubganj on the Koyali road. The tender for the road has been done to build a road from Babarganj to Koyali. But with the connivance of the councilor, the road of Suryalok Colony is being constructed, whereas the said road is already in good condition. The villagers also said that we face a lot of trouble in commuting. Children are not able to go to school. Even ambulances cannot come to our locality. Instead of giving food to the hungry, food is being given to people with full stomachs. The road which is already built, material is being put on it. This is intolerable.
Villagers say that the councillors of ward 50 and ward 51 are not even picking up the phone. However, till the time of writing the news, no police officer or representative or road construction engineer has reached the spot. The angry villagers have stopped the road construction work and are protesting fiercely.
