Black Scorpio stolen from Mahindra service center recovered from Odisha

Howrah, July 25 (HS). In Howrah district, on July 22, an unknown miscreant broke into Mahindra Authorized Service Center in Jangalpur, Sankrail, Howrah and stole a black Scorpio (WB 12BL-1515) without a gate pass and fled. It has been recovered. Howrah Police Commissioner Praveen Tripathi said on Thursday that the police was informed about the incident two hours later, after which a case of vehicle theft was registered at Sankrail police station.

A case was registered under Section 303(2) of BNS-2023 under Sankrail Police Station Case No. 527/2024. A police team was immediately formed and the vehicle was chased. Several naka points were established in the neighbouring state of Odisha while examining the CCTV footage. After a continuous chase, the miscreants were forced to abandon the car on the roadside at Jaleswar, Odisha. The stolen Scorpio was finally recovered from Jaleswar, Odisha on the evening of July 24. This was possible only due to the sincere and sustained efforts of Sankrail Police Station and HPC team. Investigation is underway to identify and arrest the culprits.
