Fatehabad, July 25 (HS). District Magistrate Rahul Narwal, exercising powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, has banned the playing of loud speakers / DJs or high sound broadcasting devices by Shiva devotees and Kawadis during the Kawad Mela in the district from July 24 to August 2 with immediate effect. If any person is found guilty of disobeying these orders issued on Thursday, he will be liable to punishment as per Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023.
In the orders issued on Thursday, it has been told that the Superintendent of Police Fatehabad has informed that like every year, this year also the Kavadiya Mela will start on 22nd July and will continue till 2nd August. During this time, Kavadiyas bring Kavad from Haridwar and Neelkanth and perform Jalabhishek in the Shiv temples located in their respective areas. During this time, Kavadiyas use jeeps, on foot and other vehicles and also play DJ on vehicles with high volume and also carry hockey, bat, arms etc. with them, in view of which it becomes necessary to issue orders under Section 163 BNSS to maintain law and order.
