In the month of Shravan, devotees remain immersed in the devotion of Lord Shiva. From carrying Kaavad to offering water, people also observe fast on Mondays and Tuesdays in this month. Fasting is considered suitable not only from a religious point of view but also from a health point of view.
There are some foods that need to be taken care of during the fast. There are some things that should not be eaten during or after the fast. Otherwise, it can cause problems like swelling and gas in your stomach. Shravan month is starting from 22 July 2024. If you are on a fruit fast during this time, then take special care of your food and drink
Do not consume tea or coffee
During fasting, the stomach remains empty, so tea and coffee should be avoided. Excessive consumption of these two things can cause acidity. This not only causes sour burps but also heartburn and you may feel very uncomfortable during the fast.
Avoid these snacks
During fasting people eat potato chips and tikki as snacks but eating fried food on an empty stomach can cause gas formation and bloating. Apart from this, many things like fruit snacks, chips are available in the market but these things are harmful for your health but during fasting you cannot be sure about the cleanliness of such things.
Avoid these dairy products
Although milk and paneer are beneficial for health, avoid consuming them during fasting. Try to reduce the consumption of milk otherwise it can cause heaviness in your stomach. If you take milk or paneer, make sure it is low in fat.
Do not do this mistake while breaking the fast
After staying hungry all day, you should not eat heavy food during the fast in the evening, otherwise it can also cause bloating in your stomach. Too much spicy or fried food can make your stomach feel heavy so try to include only curd with less oil and spices in your diet.
